Willis Leaves Alabama

After winning a National Championship, Nick Saban knew his assistants would most likely be a hot commodity around the country.

Beginning before the Championship Game, rumors swirled around the South that Alabama's Defensive Coordinator Kirby Smart would leave for Geogia. Now that the game is over, and Kirby has a brand new deal at Alabama, we know that he is staying until he gets an offer for a head coaching job somewhere.

As for other targets on Saban's staff. Memphis has taken Sedrick Irvin who served as the Tide's football intern, and now Alabama's linebacker coach James Willis has been hired away to Texas Tech.

Willis will get his chance to become a defensive coordinator for the Red Raiders. Willis will join Tommy Tuberville at Texas Tech, who just signed on to become their new head coach.

Best of Luck to Him.
