Alabama Continues Perfect Run at Miss. State

Alabama continued their perfect season this weekend at Mississippi State. The Crimson Tide put up the most points since their game against Kentucky, winning 31 to 3. The offense was unstoppable, and the defense was as suffocating as always. Greg McElroy threw for 192 yards on 13 passes for two touchdowns, including a 48 yard touchdown pass to Julio Jones in the start of the fourth quarter. Mark Ingram added to his Heisman trophy resume, rushing for 149 yards and 2 touchdowns of his own. He also added to his total of rushes over 15 yards with a sprint for 70 yards, his longest rush in his career. The defense again proved it one of the best in the country, only allowing Mississippi State's offense 3 points and the fifth time this season they have kept an opponent in single digits. They only allowed 212 yards of total offense, and was dominating on every level. Mark Barron had his 2 interceptions, putting his SEC leading total to 6. The other star of the evening on defense was cornerback Marquis Johnson, who seemed to break up the pass every time State tried to throw against him. Let's hope that they can build on this performance leading into the SEC Championship versus Florida in Atlanta.
